My Annexation Reform Bill Is Ready...

I am proud to say that the annexation reform bill I have been working on is now ready to introduce. It took a few attempts to get it where I wanted it to be, but I think it was worth the time spent. The bill will still allow a city to island annex, but it will be more difficult to do as it will require the unanimous approval of the County Commissioners. I feel this is the best approach because there will be a need for a city somewhere in Kansas to island annex in the future, and I don't want to prohibit that and have to spend tax dollars rewriting the statutes again. My intent being as long as an island annex proposal benefits all the people in and around the proposed land, then there should be no problem in getting the support of the Commissioners to pass it through. I hope you will give me your support in getting this passed into law.
